I could see the little wheels turning in her head as the sense of betrayal set in.\u00a0 \u201cThis is a scam!\u00a0\u00a0 They lied to me!\u201c\u00a0 I could imagine her saying.\u00a0\u00a0 I was totally on her side.\u00a0 I got it.\u00a0 It was a LONG walk!<\/p>\n<p>She stopped dead in her tracks, pulled her hands out of her parents\u2019 grip, gave her feet a good stomp, and shouted <em>\u201cWhy this isn\u2019t fun right now?\u201d<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I had to laugh out loud.\u00a0\u00a0 Her protest that this was NOT part of what she had agreed to was compelling.\u00a0 This betrayal ran deep!<\/p>\n<p>Here I am, many years later, and I still hear that little girl\u2019s voice loud and clear in my mind when I reach the point where something loses its joy.\u00a0 Unlike her, I have a few years, and a few skills under my belt that I can tap in to when I need to work out why something no longer feels fun.\u00a0\u00a0 Not to mention I have some great Life Coach buddies on speed dial to help me when I need another perspective<\/p>\n<p>Some times we get so bogged down in the <em>What<\/em> that we forget the <em>Why<\/em>.\u00a0 We lose touch with the original motivation behind whatever it is we are doing. \u00a0We get so caught up in the task itself that we end up sucking the fun out of it. \u00a0I am guilty of this more frequently than I prefer to admit. \u00a0I put my head down and just DO.\u00a0 I lose perspective and forget to enjoy the process itself.\u00a0\u00a0 Inevitably I find myself shouting \u201cWhy this isn\u2019t fun right now?!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When something starts out fun, but then loses it\u2019s sparkle, it\u2019s time to take a good look at where things went wrong. \u00a0It\u2019s time to tap back into the original motivation behind what you set out to do.\u00a0\u00a0 Go back to the last time it felt good and ask yourself what changed. \u00a0\u00a0When did the joy slink back into the dark corners?\u00a0 Are you still motivated in the same way?\u00a0 Is it time to get back on track or change course? \u00a0Turn on the flashlight and go search those dark corners for the joy.\u00a0 Once you find it, put your best princess dress on and get back to the party!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","template":"100-width.php","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/robinfieldslifecoaching.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/518"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/robinfieldslifecoaching.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/robinfieldslifecoaching.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/robinfieldslifecoaching.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/robinfieldslifecoaching.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=518"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/robinfieldslifecoaching.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/518\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2019,"href":"https:\/\/robinfieldslifecoaching.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/pages\/518\/revisions\/2019"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/robinfieldslifecoaching.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=518"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
